the 30 5 million funding round for NextVR Inc a rapidly rising virtual reality company As reported by the Philadelphia Business Journal the startup that is based in Laguna Beach California broadcasts join the venture after witnessing the success of virtual reality especially on some of its networks like CNN and TNT Their biggest advantage is that they have joined hands with Comcast which is an all multiline accounts and do away with the option for unlimited data This new plan is widely viewed as a response to recent developments by its key competitors in the American market With that unlimited data plans have been thrown into further marginalization and T Mobile had the plan come into effect on July 15 All of their customers will enjoy additional 10 gigabytes of data in every line which will be the minimum For every two lines that are in service customers will pay 100 and every line will have unlimited voice calling and messaging as well as 10 GB For customers who have a third line with similar access they will have to pay an additional 20 every month and having a fourth line will be for free until September 7 In a nutshell a customer with four lines will enjoy 10 GB of data for each at a cost of 120 every month There are also T Mobile US international roaming options that will come with the lines For those customers who would want to enjoy more benefits with their lines there is the option of paying 10 every month for each line and the data bucket will improve to 20 GB As a start the data plan will be availed by the company in retail stores as well as telesales across US while online activation will be announced very soon T Mobile is going flat out in making sure the data plan succeeds and they eat into the market share of other competitors like AT T and even when there is no network congestion to justify the act This is sad because the company has faced criticism from the FCC and even had a lawsuit filed against it for the same shady practices This is definitely unfair for LTE subscribers because 3G data plan subscribers do not get such harsh treatment This is because throttling of 3G data plan customers is only done during times of data congestion When queried about this discrepancy on throttling AT T responded by saying that they are experiencing certain technological limitations that prevent them from treating all their customers the same way However they promised to rectify the error sometime next year which means the throttling will continue until and if they provide the solution Switching From AT Ts 4G LTE To 3G Will Not Beat Throttling Some 4G LTE customers had found a solution to the throttling problem They figured that since 3G data plans are not as strictly throttled as 4G LTE plans they would switch from the latter to the former whenever their connections slowed down This is possible by switching off one s 4G LTE data connection and functioning on 3G Hence once they hit the 5GB data limit after which 4G LTE data connections are throttled they would switch to 3G However many of them are now complaining that this approach does not work which means that the company is throttling their accounts on 3G as well It seems that the company identifies a 4G LTE customer by his SIM ID and ensures that they cannot escape throttling even by switching plans The only solution for unfortunate 4G LTE customers from AT T to avoid the throttling is to switch from the unlimited data plan to a capped plan something many of them do not want to do As it is 4G LTE customers just have to wait to see a change in this matter Share this Facebook Google Tumblr Twitter More Print Email Tweet Be the first to comment What do you think Posted by admin February 22 2015 at 11 58 am Categories 3G 4G At t Cellular Data Limits LTE Throttling Tags 3G 4G At t data LTE Throttling Unlimited Expect AT T Network Throttling Policy Changes In 2015 Expect AT T Network Throttling Policy Changes In 2015 In spite of the FCC coming down hard on wireless companies because of data throttling issues some companies have not changed their ways AT T is a good example as it continues to throttle data where some of its unlimited data plans are concerned However the company recently announced that it will be changing some of its policies on data throttling come 2015 The change is expected to affect its LTE services Critics have stated that while AT T throttles unlimited data plans of its LTE users it still provides preferential treatment to its 3G users It seems that customers with 3G enables devices are getting different treatment from LTE customers Although data throttling affects users on both platforms it seems that it specifically affects LTE users more For example it reduces data speeds for LTE customers once they exceed their 3 GB data allowance On the other hand LTE customers are throttled when they surpass a 5 GB data limit This is deemed as unfair as LTE customers obviously pay more for their data plans than 3G customers Hence many argue that based on pricing the throttling should not be based on data limits at all In addition it is reported that at first AT Ts data throttling applied to all its users uniformly when they surpassed certain data limits However in July this year the company switched to throttling only during network congestion It was believed that the change applied to all AT T users but now evidence points to different practices It seems that the throttling of data during congestion applies only to 3G users while LTE users are affected by throttling based on data usage This is another discrepancy that users need to see fixed This double standards concerning data throttling has caused an uproar that has forced the company to promise a change in policy this coming year It will be a relief for LTE customers especially as some of them have had to move to capped data plans to avoid the disturbing throttling practices of the company We can only wait and see if the company changes policy as promised in 2015 Share this Facebook Google Tumblr Twitter More Print Email Tweet Be the first to comment What do you think Posted by admin February 1 Unlimited Data Plans AT T has received criticism from the Federal Trade Commission because of a statement it made three years ago to its smart phone customers touching on data plans The company sent were not accurate because they were not specific As a result of the omission AT T is facing a lawsuit by the commission for misleading its customers AT T is facing a lawsuit because there is evidence that they have been slowing down the internet connections of customers that have used more than two gigabytes of data in a month The rate of slowdowns is also alarming as some customers have reported that speeds go down as much as 95 percent Such a reduction in speeds means that such customers cannot access the internet or use certain apps on their phones when this happens This behavior is the direct opposite of their slogan that claims that they provide their customers with unlimited data access AT T

Time Warner Cable TWC will pay out 1 25 million as a settlement for claims of minimum and overtime wages to a recognized group of employees In a report published by Law360 the deal was struck following the filing of a stipulation at the California federal court Call center representatives had sued TWC and related entities for allegedly violating the California state labor and unfair competition laws They accused TWC of failing to pay them minimum and overtime wages as well as not paying them wages included in a contract Further the employees accused TWC of breaching their contracts failing to pay timely final wages and not providing accurate itemized wage statements The stipulation said that the workers who served the company between June 2006 and April 2015 should be compensated for the weeks they worked which were the basis of the settlement agreement with TWC Although defendants contend that they have no liability in this case defendants counsel shares class counsel s belief that the settlement represents a fair and adequate settlement given the risks associated with the litigation the stipulation reads in part The parties will work together expeditiously
