    Wall of Wind http www ihrc fiu edu The IHRC also collaborates with NOAA s National Hurricane Center NHC co located on the FIU campus Erik has many years of experience as a broadcast meteorologist providing live continuous coverage for hurricanes tornadoes and flooding He is currently freelancing for NBC6 TV in Miami and for WINK TV in Fort Myers Erik is also a partner with the StormZone education program Before IHRC Erik worked at Miami based America s Emergency Network with Max Mayfield former National Hurricane Center Director AEN technology provided video streaming capability over the internet and via satellite Before AEN Erik served as Project Coordinator for the non profit Hurricane Warning at the Disaster Survival House located in Deerfield Beach Florida The Hurricane Warning Education Program focused on hurricane and disaster mitigation safety and preparedness He also served as Hazard Mitigation Manager for the City of Deerfield Beach was on the City s Crisis Activation Team and participated in all activations of the emergency operations center Erik Salna is a Full Member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association Erik received an Excellence in Media Award from the Press Club of Southeast Texas in 2004 a Bronze Telly Award in 1998 for creating a lightning safety video the Florida Governor s Hurricane Conference Media Award in 1994 and TV Broadcaster of the Year by the National Weather Association in 1989 Erik earned a MS in Meteorology from Northern Illinois University and a BS in Physical Geography with an emphasis in Meteorology from the University of Illinois DR J P KEENER Director STEM Academic Programs Florida Department of Education Dr J P Keener holds degrees in chemistry physics and education with emphasis on educational technology He has worked on several state national and international projects including international biodiversity studies of pandas lemurs blue monkeys Gorillas of the Congo and Cuban alligator populations He has also worked on environmental health standards for rainforests and coral reefs and has published in several environmental and educational venues as well as the Journal of the American Chemical Society Dr Keener has been an Associate and Adjunct Professor of math science and education for several universities including Florida Atlantic University Nova Southeastern University Barry University The University of Phoenix and the University of Pittsburgh Dr Keener has collaborative working relationships with the Cousteau Foundation and the Wild Spots Foundation and brings his knowledge of mathematics science and international standards to students and districts across the state of Florida WILLIAM DELGROSSO Project Manager Booz Allen Hamilton Mr DelGrosso is Project Manager for Booz Allen Hamilton coaching a range of clients on emergency management mission assurance and training and exercise programs He had advised the intelligence community the US court system and the nation s healthcare agencies on contingency and emergency response planning He has over 15 years of experience managing the consequences of disasters on Federal and local levels His career began at the Federal Emergency Management Agency coordinating the Federal
